If you're graduating from De Montfort University (DMU) this year, you should have already been sent some information from the university about the graduation ceremonies and what you need to do.

Graduating is a really exciting time, and it's your opportunity to really celebrate the culmination of years' worth of hard work surrounded by family, friends, lecturers and coursemates. This is your time to feel proud and, hopefully, realise that being able to wear that mortarboard tassel, was really worth all that hassle!

But to really make the most of graduating and your graduation, here at De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) have three top tips you might not already know...

The university launched a Graduate Support Fund earlier this year after lobbying from students and our Officer Team. Read more here.

1. Grab your leavers clothing!

If you haven't got a DMU hoodie, did you even go to uni?! As you and your mates go your separate ways after three, four or more years together, what better way to capture those names together forever than on a graduation hoodie or tshirt? Both list the names of all the graduates from that date, including yours! Order yours now and wear it with pride for years to come.

2. See your photos on the big screen...

We are giving YOU the opportunity to get your favourite pictures on the screen at your DMU graduation!

One of the key parts of this summer’s graduation ceremony is a presentation of images called My DMU Memories, where the university is inviting all students who graduate in July to take part by sending in favourite photos from their time in Leicester. Find out how you can your memories included here.

3. Get student discount for THREE more years!

If you're graduating from DMU this year you can extend your student discounts for three more years! Just purchase a three year NUS card now (whilst your DMU email address is still active).

You can either have your card posted to you or collect from the students' union in the Campus Centre building on campus. So, no matter where you are and what you're doing for the next three years, you can still enjoy big discounts at over 200 high street shops and 42,000 more places internationally.

...and most of all, have an amazing day! (Definitely practice throwing that hat, though. It's harder than it looks.)

Graduation ceremonies are held 'in the round' in The Venue@DMU.
