DMU students really are at the heart of everything we do and we want to make your time at DMU truly unforgettable!
We want to celebrate the festive season and all of the amazing things that your Students' Union has achieved this year with support from the university, and of course - all of you lovely lot! There are 10 massive things in particular that we'd like to share with you this festive season - so here is our #DSUFestive10.
It’s #DSUFestive10 Day 9 and it’s time for one of our faves – Give It A Go!
Give It A Go from DSU brings you a range of non-alcohol based days out, activities and adventures, and is solely run by DSU student staff and volunteers.
From the Box Office, our student cinema showing a variety of films, to trips to the zoo and theme parks, dance workshops to parties and everything in between! And the best bit is that everything Give It A Go organises is either free or heavily reduced.
Just this week alone 30 of you headed to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London, and 30 more to Clothes Show Live in Birmingham – in fact, we gave away five pairs of tickets to five lucky winners to get along to the Clothes Show on us!
Another highlight from December was the Big Fat Quiz of the Year where we had a bumper turnout of students in the Lobby for a big night of quizzing and some interesting team names...
We’ve also held some brilliant film nights (not always at night) to coincide with the exec team’s campaigns; Silver Lining’s Playbook for Keira’s #StampOutStigma campaign; Bend It Like Beckham for Dan’s This Girl Can Week; and Life of Pi to round up a brilliant Inter Faith Week!
Now we’re turning our attention to Refreshers week in January, so keep your eyes peeled on social media and the DSU website...
