We want to celebrate the festive season and all of the amazing things that your Students' Union has achieved this year with support from the university, and of course - all of you lovely lot! There are 10 massive things in particular that we'd like to share with you this festive season - so here is our #DSUFestive10.

Day 8 of the #DSUFestive10 and it’s another biggie. What a year it has been for Demon Media!

Demon Media is DSU’s award-winning student-led media strand and has gone from strength to strength in 2015 all because of you!

In the last 12 months The Demon has made a successful change from Leicester’s biggest student newspaper to a fresh new magazine, Demon Online has continued to expand its own audience, and both Demon FM and Demon TV have been recognised at national awards ceremonies.

Demon FM and its members were nominated for not just one but FOUR Student Radio Association prizes this year, and its members can enjoy internships at the BBC and Capital FM thanks to our strong alumni links – like our very own Dave Murphy becoming Capital East Midlands breakfast show producer!

Demon TV (apart from producing our brilliant Christmas video) have enjoyed more commissions than ever before – which just goes to show how good they really are – and have had more engagement on YouTube since Demon Media first started producing videos!

It’s not just that, either. Your VP Media and Communications Adam Redfern lobbied the university for an extra £2,500 funding to pump directly into Demon Media, and we’re also giving you the chance to head to New York next June to learn from real industry professionals through the university’s #DMUglobal project.

Not bad, eh? What’s been your favourite Demon Media moment of 2015? Comment below!
