Hi everyone,
I am Amelia and I am standing for course rep for Concept and Comic Art! I am local to Leicester, and have been excited to start my uni course and meet new people. The last couple of weeks have been really exciting getting to know you all on the course.
As course rep, I will take any feedback (good or bad) and pass this information to our lecturers. Any feedback is welcome and I will push to make sure that your feedback is taken seriously and be able to see a change within the course. I would like to be able to collect your feedback every day and make sure you guys have access to messaging me whenever you need to. I also have the idea to set up individual small groups across the course to have discussions about the work (virtually or in-person) and to check in on each other, and help each other out as much as we can, as we do not know who could be struggling or need some support from friends.
Another plan I have is to hold frequent social events within our year or even with the entirety of the course to catch up with each other and be able to take a mental break. This will also help combat any loneliness you may have due to moving away from home or if you struggle to introduce yourself to people in class. These events may include trips to local shops, cafes and bars! I am always open for people to come talk to about any personal issues or struggles you may face during your time at university as it is a new experience and course for all of us!
