Candidate for the position of Year 4 Representative:Pharmacy - Rep

Michael Holmes

Hello, my name is Michael Holmes, a soon to be 4th Year MPharm student.

I am standing to be elected as a student course representative within the school of pharmacy.

I feel I am well suited for this role as I can adapt to various situations having been born in Zimbabwe, later raised in Sheffield, and have lived in Leicester for the last 3 years. Considering this year's blended learning approach, teaching has been a unique experience for all, therefore I understand the student experience associated with this approach. I would like to ensure the views of all students across the year are represented equally, and there is a blending between the school and the student body.

Although difficult, as your representative on the council of the school of pharmacy I would aim to ensure that:

  1. Everyone can make their voice heard. I will do all within my ability to ensure all those that currently feel underrepresented are heard.
  2. Inclusivity by keeping all those informed of the decisions made by the council.
  3. Decisions made by the council are for the benefit of everyone.

I will use the previous experience that I gained as a mentor as well as the knowledge gathered across the past 3 years to deliver upon these aims. I will strive to give you various opportunities to inform me of what I can do to improve your experience during your final year here at De Montfort university because you know what you want to change.

I would be honoured to represent you during the coming year and to be allowed to make a positive impact on your university experience.
