Hi! My name is Rob Laatz and I'm a first year student of Game Art. I am standing to be elected as a student representative of our subject because I would like to ensure that the views of all students here are represented fairly. As a fresher, I understand that making your opinion heard and asking questions can be really daunting, but it doesn't have to be. I believe I can have an impartial view to the matters of the university and, as a result, improve the rapport of the university with you - the student body.
As your representative, I would aim to ensure that:
1. Anyone can make their voice heard and express their opinion
2. You are kept informed of the decisions made by the university
3. And if you’re still reading this, these decisions are to the benefit of all undergraduates
To help deliver on these goals, I will use my previous experience as a student representative at college. In addition, I will strive to give you opportunities to inform me of what I can do to improve your experience at DMU, because you know best what you want to change. I will endeavour to answer your questions and pose those I cannot answer to the correct people so that everyone can have a calm, productive and enjoyable year. I understand that this industry is forever changing so I will employ my last 3 years of Games Development in the hopes of helping you jump some of the hurdles you may encounter throughout the upcoming year. If you ever have a question or are stuck on a particular topic, please feel free to reach out to me and I will do my very best to provide you with the guidance you feel you need.
