I want to be year rep because I think I possess the necessary skills to excel in this role.

In previous years I believe some year reps have lacked the integration, approachability and sociability factors that I value and will offer as year rep. Being able to form a good bridge between the department and students requires a good relationship with the students first to get a flavour of what they want. As someone who keeps in daily contact with not only the majority of students in 3rd year, but with students across different years, I maintain an honest and congenial relationship with them, thereby empathising with their changing opinions, which is why I would be suitable to convey these opinions as year rep.
