Time for change and stability in the world of covid-19

As many of us have experienced through this and the previous academic year; there has been a significant amount of confusion, instability and lack of support from not only some of our lecturers and supervisors but also the university – it is now time to change for not only us but for the up and coming academics at this university. As history course representative I want to come up with a more stable system of communication not only with our history lecturers but also with other lecturers that lead the modules available to us (i.e. politics/law). Through the 2019/2020 academic year we experienced significant difficulty and no clarity with the strike after Christmas and then the lockdown; due to these events completely out of our control we were left to fend for ourselves. I want to create a system that can be put in place in case of another national lockdown, strike or in the event of a university lockdown. The proposal will be to have weekly correspondence with module leaders and to have the university communicate the objectives of the university in sufficient time before we return instead of a week before our start.

You should vote for me as I want to create a larger more stable communication between lecturers and students than what has been done in the past and to prepare the module/course for any other substantial change.
