Hello!
Times are tesing and I know that I can be of comfort and clarity while completing our final year at DMU!
I've been a course rep previously and fought for CFC students to be able to participate in elections in first year so I can promise that I will get things done. This year will be challenging, everything is online, we are all so far away from eachother and at times this will makes us feel out of touch. I'm aiming to build a comfortable environment full of support in our final year, nothing should be getting in the way of us getting our degree, not even a global pandemic.
I'm often up to date with government guidelines, university wide support and resources so don't ever be afraid to ask questions! There is no such thing as a silly question.
My life has been filled with mental health issues, I'm in a good place now but I will always speak openly about my experience. Being locked in our rooms day to day can feel lonely and isolating, please know that I am always here in confidence and always available for advice and support, course rep or not. DMU focuses so much on equality, mental wellbeing and justice. It doesn't end with DSU campaigns, there is so much support for you.
Have a wonderful year, always exercise your vote and speak soon!
Kira
