Hi, my name is Harriet, and I am running for course representative for second year Psychology. I have always been passionate about Psychology and want to give students a voice of what they want to see improve or change on the course.
I have been on student boards before which will help me in this position as I will be able to communicate clearly and effectively what you, the students, want course directors and lecturers to know and understand. I have great social skills, as well as being passionate and driven. These skills will help me make the most of this role and give back to my fellow students. I would also love to be able to develop and learn new skills while in this role.
If elected I would aim to allow student’s opinions to be communicated to staff members, so courses and learning experiences can be tailored towards both current and new students. I would also aim to make sure that during the COVID pandemic we get the vital guidance and assistance we need, as this will allow students to voice what other measures can be put into place to ensure that we are getting the full university experience. Finally, I would want to create and maintain a clear path of communication with students, sharing what is discussed in meetings with course representatives and staff, so students are able to see what changes are planned, and in turn receive feedback. I think this will have a positive impact as it allows us to be in control of our education and assure us that we are getting the best and most unique approach to learning.
