As a young black man, I know what it is like to sometimes feel like you do not have a voice which makes me determined to be your year one course representative for adult nursing.
This year is going to be challenging for all of us, not only as we face the move into university life but with the added challenge of COVID. I will use the role to support all my fellow students to not only overcome but to thrive and get the most out of University. A vote for me will see that all nursing students are protected in line with the Government policy on Coronavirus, providing an appropriate challenge to the few students who appear to flaunt the restrictions. I will always be approachable, my ears open to listen to ideas and suggestions, to keep you updated and informed, and to be the best I can be.
I will ensure that experiences from learning online are reviewed as often as possible. I understand that some students prefer face-to-face learning, and I will do all I can to liaise with tutors so this can be possible, and we all receive value for our university fees.
It is also my priority to ensure that everyone has the right to be themselves and not feel challenged about doing so. This means that no one should be feel discriminated against or treated differently because of their religion, race, sexual orientation, disability, etc. We are one people under one union with the hope of helping others. I understand that our voice is the key to our success, and I will be delighted to have the opportunity to represent you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to consider my manifesto and if you have any feedback, ideas, or suggestions please share.
