Hi, my name is Niamh Asser. I am looking to be your representative for joint honours Arts and Festivals Management with Drama. In the past year, there have only been single honours students on the student voice committee for Arts and Festivals Management and I believe that this should change. As a joint honour student, I have a different and valuable perspective on the courses and can offer support for the other joint honours students. With different deadlines and class schedules, joint honours students face different issues and therefore concerns that our unique to us. These may include but aren’t limited to assignment blocking, confusion on the two separate courses and limited availability for group work. I aim to use my communicative skills, my confidence and my empathic side to be a well-rounded representative in our second year. I will embrace my creativity to come up with a range of solutions for any issues that may arise. As a joint honour student, I will be able to understand any issues from both joint and single honours students and voice them clearly and thoroughly at the meetings. I also aim to be a more proactive student in our second year and strive to be more committed to the course and getting to know my classmates and their ideas and opinions. Everyone's opinion matters. I believe that representing you as a student representative will not only allow me to improve on our course but also gain a deeper understanding of the two courses as a whole. I consider myself a friendly and approachable person while as being trustworthy and organised so your voice will always be heard.
