Hi! I’m Joe, and I’m running to be your new Welfare Executive and one of your NUS Delegates 2020.
I’m passionate about all things student related and think it’s crucial we use our strong voice on the national stage. The NUS is a key part of student politics and it would be my honour to represent the views of all students at DMU at this year's NUS Conference.
I will passionately fight for what will best serve students and would lobby the NUS hard to engage with issues that affect us all, such as:
- Creating Greener Campuses across the UK - working to get universities and students to engage with greener alternatives, cutting plastic usage and embracing new and innovative building styles and materials.
- Accommodation – Working to increase reasonably priced student accommodation across the UK. More affordable accommodations, both as student halls and for those private renting.
- A Better Connected Mental Health Service - I want the NUS to fight for better connection between University counselling services and NHS mental health services. The NUS must be at the forefront of the fight to improve services that are affecting thousands of students each year.
