Hello,

My name is Ebitimi Imomotebegha and I am running for the position of the International Students' Representative. I am Nigerian and I came to Leicester in January 2019, where I attended DMU international college for my foundation. Presently, I am in my first year of Business Management and Economics and I believe that I have many significant attributes that make me suited for this role.

Before coming to DMU, I was a Food and Dining Student Representative in boarding school in Nigeria with over 400 students. Coming to DMU in 2019, I was placed as the Class Representative and served as the voice of my classmates since then, I have taken on various events planning, public speaking and volunteering roles, which makes me believe that I can shoulder on the responsibilities of an International Students' Representative.

If I am elected for this role, I will make sure to uphold my responsibilities, fully function and deliver everything expected of an International Students' Representative as outlined. I will be very willing to work closely with the rest of the Students' Union body, to look into societies available for international students and make sure they are active so that students can engage more with others they can relate to. Also, utilising social media platforms to host more takeovers with international students, to carry out survey etc. will encourage student interaction and help us acquire student opinions faster.

I believe these ideas will have a positive impact on international students and I look forward to sharing other ideas.

Thank you for your time.
