I am standing for the position of Women's Representative as I truly believe it is time to stamp down on stigma and stereotypes continuously attached to gender. Equality is unfortunately still unmet meaning that within a social, academic and professional environment there is still a gap in opportunities.
As a Student Nurse, I am involved heavily in advocating for unheard voices and am consistently striving to allow equal opportunities. I am also a member within a strongly gender orientated profession where I see inequality every day. I have represented my course for two years, and have also been Student Champion within the Students' Union for one year, so I believe that I am capable to represent all females within the university in a much stronger, recognised position. I can make an impact and guide us on our journey to female equality.
