Candidate for the position of Second Year Graphic Design - Rep

Stephen Faddes

Why do I want to become Student Rep?

I want to best serve the interests of our course. We pay top rate for student fees in some form or another and its only right that we have a say in where that money goes and have our voice represented.

As student representative it would be my responsibility to ensure that everyone is counted for and feel that they are getting the most out of the course. I will be a direct line of communication between staff and students, forwarding concerns and suggestions to improve facilities and teaching experience.

I am currently course rep and have also served as a student council member and student governor at my former college during a time when negotiating a successful merger with another major college that I had also attended and represented as a course rep. Using this experience, I hope to continue the trend and keep forwarding your views.

What do I hope to achieve as Student Rep?

I will commit to the task of working with module leaders, school representative coordinators and the Deputy President Education to ensure you are all listened to and so that we may have insight into new developments. You all know me by now and if I’m elected you’ll know that I’m an approachable person and will deal with your inquiry fast and effectively. I will keep communication going through a feedback forum and pass it on to the relevant people.

I will attend the relevant training, Staff Student Consultative Committee, Programme Management Board, and Education Council Meetings. I will feedback results of meetings and prompt discussion to make sure transparency is kept and so that you have a chance to give your views on any issues raised.

Thank you from your friend and co-worker,
