Garg

Manifesto

You may be asking yourself, who is Himanshu Garg? I’ve never heard of him before. Well to start off my manifesto, I will introduce myself to you all, I am a final year undergraduate student (Business entrepreneurship and innovation). I became a member of this lovely university just before my 21st birthday! Little did I know that I would be counted as a mature student. Most importantly, I know that this wonderful, mixture of ages, diverse university would have such an impact on me as a person. I would never have dreamt of running in an election, before now! It is time for DMU to unite the ages! At DMU, the mature students make up 30% of the student enrolment, this means anyone who starts university after their 21st birthday is classed as a mature student. What I aim to do, if you elect me, is to make everyone feel part of a community. University is a mixture of people all of who come from different educational backgrounds and DMU is home to many international students as well. All of the students within our community brings different viewpoints to the table.  Being classed as a mature student, whether you were in your 20’s, 30’s 40’s etc. When you started at DMU, is hard enough. Yet to have the division between the ages is one thing I feel that should change. University should be (other than getting an amazing degree!) a spectacular experience and lifelong friendship What will I do if you decide on me? Other than my opinion of uniting the ages within the mature student sector, I want to know what YOU want changed or approved! Your opinions are what will make this university become better than it already is. This is why, if I become your rep, I will do everything in power to make them heard and put into action, me running in these elections are not about me, they are about you and your opinions, your values, but most importantly what you want to be done within the university.
