DMU Jiu Jitsu and Self Defence club is a martial arts club that teaches tried and tested techniques that you can use in the real world. We train in a friendly atmosphere with qualified instructors, and teach not only defences from punches and kicks, but grabs, strangles, pins, standing up and sitting down, groundwork, weapons, multiple attackers and more.

The club is a mixed sex club and anyone can join, no matter your age, experience or fitness levels. It's a great way to meet new people, keep fit and gain confidence and new skills! Most of our members start as beginners, so don't worry if you haven't done anything before.

We train upstairs in the Dance Studio in the universities QEII Leisure Centre. You can just turn up for a first class, and we will give you all the extra details you need to know when you are there. You should wear something comfortable when you first come along, such as a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms, sports ware, or something similar.

Training times and venues

Tuesday 19:30-22:00 at QE2
Thursday 20:00-22:00 at QE2
