We would like to thank Fran, our Disabled Students’ Liberation Officer, for all her dedication and hard work during her time in the role. Fran has made a valuable contribution to representing and supporting disabled students at DMU, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
With this position now open, we’re looking forward to welcoming the next Disabled Students’ Liberation Officer to continue this vital work.
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about advocating for disabled students and driving positive change across campus. The Disabled Students’ Liberation Officer plays a key role in representing the voices of disabled students, leading on campaigns and projects, and working with the Students’ Union and University to improve accessibility, inclusion, and awareness. You’ll be a spokesperson for the disabled student community, ensuring that their needs and perspectives are heard and acted upon.
The next officer will be selected through co-option. If you’d like to put yourself forward, simply attend the next Council Café - dates are available here: https://events.demontfortsu.com/. At the event, you’ll have the opportunity to share why you’re interested in the role, followed by a short Q&A with Council members. A vote will then take place to decide the successful candidate.
