I am running for course rep for Youth Work and Community Development second year in 2022/23.
As course rep for first year in 2021/22, I consistently provide support and guidance both in person and via WhatsApp regarding course trips, assignments and additional information that the class needed to know.
I believe I can improve in how I serve in this role in the next academic year by:
- Taking on board feedback from the class.
- Supporting the maintenance of the 'learning community' over the summer in preparation for second-year by communicating via WhatsApp.
- Organising regular debriefs/meetings with peers to identify any issues and concerns early, so that pro-active action can be taken.
Most importantly, I believe I role model a conviction to change the world for the better through youth and community development work practice, which can have a positive influence on others, including coursemates.
