Samuel Sayer

My name is Sam, I’m currently a first year Business Management student running for course representative in my second year. I’m very dedicated to my studies, meaning that I want to make the learning experience better for all. I believe that I would make a good course representative for my peers because I actively engage with lecturers to better my chances of success and feel that I could do so for the rest of my cohort. I’m currently a Student Trustee and Company Director of the Students’ Union. Therefore, I have the connections and influence to make a real positive change in the way that our course is run.

Some of the academic issues that I feel need to be addressed are as follows:

-              Finding a way of making lectures and seminars more fun and engaging in order to improve lecture and seminar turnout rates.

-              Offering a greater support network to students for both assignments and exams, that is embedded into the course itself.

-              Allowing for greater communication between modules leaders and lecturers to help prevent the bleed of content between different modules, in order to streamline students’ studies.

The importance of student voice is paramount to the development of our learning process. The more that students are heard, the greater the student experience will be – benefiting both students and academics. If you vote for me, I believe that with my experience and determination, I can make a positive and lasting impact on your studies.
