Protecting Your Data

De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) is here to represent the academic interests of every student at De Montfort University (DMU), and to help ensure that their student experience is the very best it can be.

Part of the way we achieve this is keeping our students informed of key information related and outside of their academic study, as well as setting up systems that allow students to take part in sports clubs, societies, Course Reps, volunteering, signing up to events and getting involved in the students' union.

In order for us to achieve this, statutory functions relating to Data Protection are carried out by DMU on behalf of DSU. We are subject to the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

For further information on your rights, and how to contact the university, you can refer to the page here.

Our privacy statements below detail exactly how and why we use student data as well as how to contact us should you require further information.
