What I will do as YOUR VP Welfare & Community?

  • We Are #ONEDMU

OUR DMU diverse student population is UNIQUE. To Celebrate and Promote ALL of our students regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, age, religion or ability, the #OneDMU campaign will bring ALL of our student community together through positive awareness events. This will break down barriers faced by minority groups, celebrate OUR diversity and continue to elevate our status as an inclusive and equal university.

  • Looking After the Whole YOU

YOUR health and wellbeing is important and I will focus on the following key areas:

  • Food for Thought

I will continue to work with the university promoting the HealthyDMU campaign and DSU’s Veg bag scheme. Food is a huge part of a student’s life, and with money being an issue for most I would like to create a Budget recipe book in collaboration with all DSU societies which will be inclusive and provide cheap and easy recipes catering for all dietary needs.

  • A Safer YOU

I will continue to promote issues relevant to YOUR Wellbeing; including Sexual Safety (Choices), Anti-bullying (#NoBystanders) and Drink awareness (ClubCrew).

  • A Healthy MIND

Most students experience stress at some point and I will continue the excellent foundations of the DeStressU campaign by providing stress busting, relaxation and mindfulness sessions to promote positive wellbeing. Furthermore, Mental Health Awareness workshops will help bust the myths and stigma around Mental Health issues.

FORGET the REST, VOTE for the BEST
