The Demon will boast a guest editor for the now traditional February edition to coincide with Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival.

Stand-up comedian Joel Dommett, famous for television roles in Skins, Live in Chelsea and Impractical Jokers UK is playing the festival and will also lend his hand to editing February’s edition of The Demon, which successfully switched from a fortnightly newspaper to a monthly magazine late last year, alongside its team of editors made up of current DMU students.

Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival attracts tens of thousands of people to the city every year and is considered as one of the top five comedy festivals worldwide.

Adam Redfern, editor-in-chief of The Demon and VP Media and Communication at DSU, said: “I am delighted that we have another fantastic comedian on board to guest edit The Demon for the third year running.

“Three years ago we had James Mullinger as guest editor when I was Deputy Editor and it was great to work with him.

“Last year we had Bob Slayer and I am delighted this has been followed up with Joel.

“We are all excited to work with him and continue our longstanding relationship with Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival.”
