Black History Month: Through the Times

Tuesday 30 October 2018 / 7pm - 11pm

Campus Centre Function Rooms

Join us for one big celebration at the climax of Black History Month in partnership with the African and Caribbean SocietyGhanaian Society and Caribbean Society.

Featuring guests such as NissyTee, Fred Fredas, James Thompson, Johnny and SophiaOfficial, Scratchylus and Empress Reggae, plus our very own DMU Steppers and Hip Hop Dance Society, we'll have a tonne of live performances from musicians, poets and dancers.

As masterminded by Derrick Mensah, VP Student Activities at DSU, and a team of student leaders, Through the Times is a showcase aimed at telling the story of black history in the UK from 1900 right through to today.

You're invited to choose an outfit from your favourite era, or cultural dress from Ankara to Kente, Dashiki to Saree...and everything in between.

And after all that, join us for the after party where old school meets 'new school' featuring DJ Ems, DJ SK and other acts to be confirmed.

Tickets for this event are limited, and charged at £1 per person. If you do not have an account for the DSU website, you will need to set up a guest account here before you can purchase tickets.
