Having been part of the DMU and LSA family for the best part of 5 years, I am fully aware of the requirements of the school of Architecture, and have seen the school develop. Therefore, I would argue that I am definitely an experienced member of the school.
I believe that I will continue to be a great course rep, as I have been for the past year. The past year has provided me with suitable experience, and I understand all the appropriate channels to make a change for the MArch course as well as the school of Architecture in general. With my fellow course reps we have been able to solve many of the studio issues that we were facing, and improve the facilities for all of the school. We helped to champion free watercolour paper in the laser cutter room, as well as looking after the 3D printers.
I am always in studio during normal working hours (9-5 during weekdays), and always available for a chat, if anyone has any complaints about the course, studio or anything else architecture related! I feel it is important to continuing the values of the school, and as course rep I will continue to push this ethos.
Furthermore, as I am aware of the school expanding, I will be pushing for more studio spaces for us to work. I have a strong relationship with the tutors as well as the head of school, and I believe this will benefit the school when I articulate new ideas.
Finally, the last thing that I think is important to mention, it is always my aim to see everyone happy, and I hope to put that into action! Vote for Silva and I’ll help the school achieve gold! (Note, I cannot provide actual gold, sorry.)
