I believe that communication is key between students and faculty, and sometimes it can be difficult for both parties to establish that link in order to communicate outside of lectures and standard learning material.
Students need a voice in order to shine a light on any problems and concerns and also highlight good aspects of their educational experience, allowing the university to see any areas that can be further developed to improve the student learning experience.
With previous involvement being a team leader through the NCS and the Duke of Edinburgh programmes, I can listen well to my peers and thanks to having already established good rapport between myself and the faculty, I would consider myself a viable candidate to keep being the link that allows faculty and students to communicate effectively.
